Chili Time Baby!!!

Down jackets, neoprene suits, gloves, hats, mittens, long underwear, vests, socks, hand warmers all of these bode very well for the outer layer of our bodies, but what about the inner layer? Winter Chili at its' simplest and finest is your answer to warmth and inner satisfaction. Below is one of my favorite chili recipes. Actually, I can't take the credit for it. My girlfriend, the renowned Christina, created it from years of experience.

1 lb lean organic beef - browned and drained
1 medium white onion, chopped
4 Tbsp chili powder
1 1/2 tsp worchestershire sauce
1 tsp ground cumin
1 tsp oregano
1 tsp sweet basil
1 tsp garlic salt
1 can kidney beans
1 can pinto beans
2 cans chopped tomatoes (Mexican style is best)
1 green bell pepper, chopped
1 orange bell pepper, chopped
slowly simmer until done.
Optional: serve with shredded cheddar and chopped cilantro on top.
Enjoy a low fat medley of protein and carbs to warm you after a day on the slopes or trails...

What is your favorite warming food?
