The planet is a buzz with resolutions. In fact, as the earth circumvents the globe, it will lean towards the country using resolution brain power. The lean will peak just before mid night; leaning again and again as time travels around the planet. For those of you who didn’t know this fact, I’m sorry to be the one to break it to you. For those of you who take resolutions (and planet leaning) seriously, I ask you to consider your resolutions as you read this blog.
Mountain Bikers, known throughout most of the Northern and Southern hemispheres of Earth as being the most intelligent species, have resolutions firmly on their minds. Each of us is digging deeply in to our vast collective psyche. Did we walk a technical section that should have been attempted? Was a hill too much for our little legs to handle? Have we created too many excuses NOT to ride? Whatever the failing, mindlessness or weakness it is time to get off our rumps! Now, I mean, next year (2006) is the time.
We will be resolute. We will overcome every technical section. We will learn to change a tire in less than 15 seconds. Our legs will be stronger, more powerful and nimbler under the load of any hill. Never again will we create excuses to avoid our friends beaconing to ride a new trail. We will travel, ride, train, jump, wheelie, move, upgrade and Zen into the mountain bike lifestyle. 2006 will be the most amazing year, ever!
Let’s all share in this moment! What are your resolutions for this coming year? Mountain Biker or not, what are you resolved to do! What will you correct or improve on for the next 365 days?
