It was as if the ring summoned me. During that afternoon, I was called to reach into my bag, without looking, and grope for the brown box that contained – THE RING. When I checked for the ring, the last time, I knew in hour I would propose to Christina.
Five minutes till the hour, I was holding the ring in my pocket. I asked Christina if she would like to walk with me. Towards a small cliff band that overlooked a rocky beach is where we ended up. Christina, the ring and I sat down and talked about the crashing waves. Oooh, I said. Then I said, look at that big wave – I was nervous. I was trying to figure out what I should say to Christina – how should I propose to her.
Unfortunately, my mind works like previews before a movie. This mean, I only get half of the story. What I mean is I didn’t want to screw this one up. I wanted Christina’s engagement experience to be the best engagement story, like, ever. So, I thought hard – and very quickly.
I made it simple. I surprised Christina. I got on one knew and asked her to marry me.
