Once again I've decided to opt out of the singletrack and head for the doubletrack. Here's the deal, as to why. I don't think there is a trail in Durango, or the surrounding area, I haven't ridden. However, I've neglected the incredible four-wheel-drive trails that cover this are like ant tracks on a playground.
I guess it is all about getting out to places you haven't been before, especially in Colorado. My goal is to ride part of the Alpine loop. The road will be steep and full of nasty baby heads (big rocks). I read a recent post on yourmtb.com that said the snow was gone in Beaver Creek, which means I probably won't hit any snow during my ride.
I'm not sure if I'll have the energy to hit the entire 65-mile loop, as I just road 65 mniles on the road yesterday, but I hope to put in a lot. So, my pictures to come soon!
