Have you watched a mountain biking video on an LCD television? It looks cool.
The Four Corners is like that, too. The trails and scenery looks cool. When you ride it, your wheels spin and there are cave dwellings surrounding you. Then you know what riding in the Four Corners feels like.
You can probably understand the value of loving a cool place. A family member comes to mind. The feeling is also called caring. Devotion and pissed-off love also come to my mind.
Who are the people who understand what caring means? I looked online and found some people, who, to me, care about the Four Corners:
1. Bill Manning: the one time executive director of Trails2000, is responsible for protecting over 2000 miles of trails in the Southwest. After over a decade of work, Bill has moved on to manage the Colorado Trail!
2. Bill Connelly: if it wasn't for this other Bill, then we wouldn't have the Four Corners cup. He has been a strong advocate for trail development in Aztec, NM and Farmington, NM.
3. Jeni Turgeon: she is one of the local New Mexican representatives and has a super tough voice on getting things accomplished.
There are bound to be advocates of your area, too. Who are they? Care to comment on this blog with a story about your trail advocate?
