Last night was special, Pumpkin Pants and I hit up one of Durango's signature events: the Trails 2000 fundraiser. At home, in one of Durango's best eateries, were folks from all over our cool town to support trail building, preservation and conservation. In the crowd were some famous faces too. Ned Overend and Travis Brown were there to support one of Durango's best non-profits.
The Trails 2000 fundraiser consisted of a dinner and wildly cool auction. Pumpkin Pants actually bought a way discounted 2007/2008 season pass to Durango Mountain Resort (she saved like $600). We also tried to go for a MTB trip to Whister, but got bidded out so fast it was embarrassing.
At the end of the night, Trails 2000 walked away with a record. The raised more money this year than the last. Mary Monroe, the Executive Director, was psyched to see the support. She gave me lots of us high-fives as we walked out with our goods!
GO TRAILS 2000!!!
