My Reactions To The Recent IMBA Co-Authored Piece In The Denver Post About Roadless Areas

Image via Wikipedia Don't you just love it when our mountain biking advocates reach out and make their voices heard! Well recently, IMBA Executive Director Mike Van Abel recently coauthored an opinion piece on Colorado's pending roadless legislation. Writing for the Denver Post , Van Abel joined with Brady Robinsion, executive director of the Access Fund. Both IMBA and the Access Fund are founding members of the Outdoor Alliance . As always, I have an opinion on their commentary, but let's look at the article a little more closely shall we? To start, Van Abel and Brady Robinsion make it clear upfront how they (and their members) feel about the roadless rule actions! Despite some needed improvements, the draft Colorado roadless rule fails to provide long-term assurances for the future of quality backcountry recreation in the Centennial State. As though you had any questions at all... On the IMBA (International Mountain Biking Association) website, they list some of their top achievements. From building trails to lobbying for more, IMBA is a hero to many of us mountain addicts. What's more, in this ongoing tradition, IMBA also lists the 10 things they plan to do this coming year! New Bike Jitters...

When I was a kid my Dad promised me a new bike. I remember him saying, “Son, you’ve been really good this year. Your mother and I have decided to get you a new bike.” I was absorbed in the likelihood of the new wheels. Would it be the black one with the red pedals I saw in the store?
