As we all learn to cope with our changing world, and our changing reality, I thought of a movie that manages to bring forth the weird plight of our existence, which we bring upon ourselves, coupled with how we create and destroy our world. The movie is Baraka.
The film has no plot, no voice over, no main character, no dialogue... Nothing, but true cinematography. Images of the poorest among us, to the cliff dwellings of Mesa Verde flow seamlessly through this movie. I first watched it about 12 years ago and bought the movie immediately to remind me of how quickly we can all, anyone of us, fall. We are at the mercy of each other, our history and our environment. Yet, the funny part is how easily we ignore it all... Humanity, our greatest strength and our greatest weakness?
