Opinions, thoughts and recommendations on things: shredding outdoors, books, music, outdoor gear, tech, training and mental fortitude... Oh, and one picture from the week. Enjoy.
Pic of the week: me and my friend were exploring an area around Cannonball Mesa near Cortez, CO. Our search for boulders wasn't as successful as we had hoped. But as we turned the corner on our mountain bikes, we were greeted with this herd of horses. They surprised us and we surprised them. It was magical!
1. My music selection this week comes from Skapel https://open.spotify.com/artist/4NMgXxIMZeiJ5PqxdA0t6q The band is one of the most creative jazz bands I've heard. We incredible drumming, mixing, keyboards, cello and more, this band delivers a powerful and stunning musical array of tones.
2. Laird Hamilton's https://amzn.to/2woOmbX InstaFuel coffee is one of my new go-to power fuels to start my day. The coffee is delicious and combined with the tumeric creamer, you will be off to the races.
3. Workout rings are my new favorite! The rings (check out this model: https://amzn.to/2P2bYto) really help with stability exercises as well as core strength (like a LOT of core strength). I'm all for the TRX workout, but there's something to the rings that make for a more gymnastic-oriented exercise.
4. Let's give three cheers to the road running shoe! Why? I'm kind of over the hybrid shoe now. Frankly, most "hybrid" gear pitches don't work that well anyway. The Solomon Sonic Max 2 https://amzn.to/39Cu7FO is my shift away from hybrid. The running shoe has a full sole and great stability (for those of us who have small ankles). I'm only a few miles in to the shoes, so I'll report back in a later post.
5. Quote of the day: "The course of true love never did run smooth" William Shakespeare.
